Wings/Yanks July '12

It's been a crazy month.  On July 5 I sent my camera in for annual servicing.  It took a very long 9 days to get back to me.  I have updated other parts of this blog, but no new Wings or Yanks photos in July.  This page will rectify that.

I'm going to work backwards from today, July 27:

For this first one, I got a nice series here of Bigley throwing.  It just felt like the right time for Photoshop!

This Sky Chief has had a very bad week in Rochester.  This shot shows his dejected walk back to the dugout after taking a 3rd strike without swinging.  Apparently he's been sent down from the bigs for some reason or other and, if this week's any indication, I think we know why.

This shot was from an earlier inning (the same guy is at the plate as in the photo above).  While this particular shot shows a successful effort to keeping this runner pinned at first, the next shot shows a rare Rivera miscue as he WAY overthrew Nishioka.  This is NOT like Rene Rivera.  Normally this would have resulted in the runner getting put out.  Rivera to Nishioka's a pretty safe bet.  Usually.

If you look carefully you can see the ball in between the second "L" and the "C".  It ended up in the outfield, and the runner ended up on third.  Fortuitously, he was stranded there this particular inning.

I've been doing my best to make friends among the usher and security staff.  This particular shot came from an usher's invitation to have a seat.  All three Wings this inning hit the ball solidly.  They also hit them right at people.  This is the only one where I caught the ball in the frame.
